Friends of Recovery Rockland (FOR-Rockland) is comprised of Rockland County residents who are in long-term recovery from addiction along with their families and allies. We represent all sectors of the community, all regions of the state and the numerous and diverse paths to recovery. We actively organize and mobilize the recovery community to speak effectively with one voice.
Our Mission is to promote a positive view of recovery from addictions and to educate communities about the effective outcomes associated with receiving appropriate information, treatment and recovery support. We accomplish this by advocating for policies and legislation that assure sufficient resources for prevention, treatment and recovery support for all members of our community.
Our goal is for all community members to have a common language, an understanding of how recovery works, and to gain community support for this positive movement. Meetings are the 3rd Monday of every month at 5pm at The Rockland Council on Alcoholism and Other Drug Dependence, Inc. (RCADD) 25 Smith St. Ste. 101 Nanuet, NY 10954
