RCADD’S Recovery Coaching Services
In 2016 the Rockland Council on Alcoholism & Other Drug Dependence, Inc. was awarded a grant to provide Recovery Support Services to assist individuals in early recovery.
RCADDs Recovery Coaches are NYS (CARC) Certified Addiction Recovery Coaches. A CARC is a Non-Clinical, Strength-Based Supports who will provide Peer-to-Peer services to individuals up to nine months during/after successful completion of a treatment program. A CARC will assist Peers in addressing their specific needs with tasks such as developing a wellness plan with attainable goals. Individuals will be linked to other programs, services and support in the community. Individuals will be guided to discover possible educational and employment opportunities, child care resources, legal assistance, financial aid, social recovery communities, and other recovery supports.The person in recovery will be, encouraged, supported, assisted and empowered while navigating the programs, supports and processes of early recovery.
Beginning January, 2017, RCADD’s Recovery Coaches, Nancy Taylor and Tom Tompkins will be scheduling appointments with local Treatment Facilities and other community agencies to discuss the referral process.
