RCADD Announces A New Family Support Session
The Family Support Series is designed to assist family members in understanding and supporting a person with the disease of alcoholism and/or addiction while maintaining their own health and well-being.
Studies show that alcoholism and drug addiction is a disease. It impacts the health of families and communities. And the stigma of being addicted or having a family member with an addiction has prevented many families from seeking help.
The following topics will be discussed:
- Mental & emotional impact of families living with addicted people.
- Family readiness for effective intervention
- Avenues of support
- Definition & stages of recovery
- Referrals to treatment and support groups.
There is a 75.00$ fee per session.
For more information or to schedule a confidential session, please contact Kathleen Katt-Bennie, CASAC-T, CARC, Prevention Coordinator Service at 845-215-9788 ext.25.
